Lawrence Park

Lawrence Park was bought from John Lawrence in 1907 by the Dovercourt Land Building and Saving Company with a view to making the area into a subdivision for Toronto's well-heeled. There were several set backs along the way, but Lawrence Park is now one of Toronto's wealthiest neighbourhoods.

Lawrence Park sits amongst parks and ravines that wind their way through wide, pretty and sometimes hilly streets. The neighbourhood is known for its tranquility as most of the services are located on the busy peripheral streets.

The homes in Lawrence Park vary in age and design. Most were built between 1910 and the 1940s in English Cottage, Tudor, Colonial and Georgian styles. Some houses have been redeveloped and renovated, but maintained original features. One appeal of the neigbourhood is that the lots can be large and the houses are usually detached with a centre hall layout.
